Christian Marquardt arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 August 1766 aboard a snow-brig named Prinz Carl (Prince Carl) under the command of Skipper Christopher Losser.
Christian Marckward [sic] is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Christian Marquardt, a single gardner (Gärtner), settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 3 August 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 90.
The 1767 census records that Christian Marquardt came from the German village of Schöneberg.
