Sebastian Leinen, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 2 August 1766 aboard an English frigate named Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Sebastian Leinen, a mason (Maurer), and his wife Anna settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 23 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 69.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Sebastian Leinen came from the Luxembourg. The 1767 census records that Sebastian Leinen came from village of Bellingen in Luxembourg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Leinen family among the Volga German colonies.
