Discussion & Documentation

Philipp Miks [sic], a tailor (Schneider), and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Catharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Rehder.

Philipp Marker and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Hussenbach in Household No. Hs109.

Other Marker families, presumed to also be his descendants, are recorded in Households No. Hs090, Hs103, and Hs110.

In 1851, Georg Marker and his family moved from Hussenbach to Kratzke. They are recorded on the 1857 census of Kratzke in Household No. 80.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Philipp Miks came from the German region of Hanau.
