Widower Andreas Töpner [sic], a farmer, his son Johannes (age 18), and his sister Anna (age 52) arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 27 May 1766 aboard a pinque named Слон (Slon - Elephant in Russian) under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.
Johannes Diepner, a single farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 12 May 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 139.
Johann[es] Diepner and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Preuss in Household No. Ps74.
Johann[es] Diepner and his son Georg Philipp are recorded on the 1811 census of Preuss in Household No. 74 along with a note that Georg Philipp relocated to the colony of Hölzel in 1803.
[Georg] Philipp Diepner from Preuss and his son Johannes are recorded on the 1811 census of Hölzel in Household No. 11.
Georg Philipp Diepner, is recorded on the 1834 census of Hölzel in Household No. 28.
The death of Johannes Diepner in 1818 is recorded on the 1834 census of Preuss in Household No. 142.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Andreas Töpner [sic] came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that Johannes Diepner came from the German village of Heddernheim in the Kurmainz region.
