Johann Fiander, a weaver, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.
Johann Fiander and his wife Cecilia [sic] are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Johann Fiander, a cloth weaver (Tuchweber), and his wife Anna are recorded on a list of Beauregard recruits (Household No. 67) appended to the 1767 census along with a note that they settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt in 1768.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johann Fiander came from the German region of Achen.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
