Johann Batist Vanmispel, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), and his wife Katharina Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 12 May 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 36.

The 1767 census records that Johann Batist Vanmispel came from the German village of Lebbin [?] in the Brandenburg region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
