Peter Schmidt, son of the deceased Peter Schmidt, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Messer in Household No. Ms09 along with his stepfather Andreas Klapp.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Peter Schmidt came from the German region of Isenburg.
