Johann Ackermann was born in approximately 1792 in Prussia.
He served as an infantry soldier in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was captured by the Russians.
Milovidov records that as of 1814 his three sisters were still living in the Prussian village of Letschkau [sic].
He was settled in the Volga German colony of Neu-Straub in the household of Adam Zweigart.
He recorded on the 1834 census of Pobochnaya in Household No. 20.
Milovidov records that Johann Ackermann came from the German town of Letschkau [Letzkau] in the region of Prussia. Belousov records that he came from the German area of Danzig.
