Johann Albrecht Heldt, a carpenter (Tischler), and his wife Maria Elisabeth are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 15 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Schaffhausen in 1768. They had settled in Katharinenstadt on 27 August 1766.

The 1767 census records that Johann Albrecht Heldt came from the German village of Ulm in the Schwaben (Swabia) region.
