Samuel Gutjahr (age29), a farmer, his wife Anna Maria [surname not recorded] (age 26), and son Johann Philipp (age 1½) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 99. A note in the Land Register also records his marriage in 1777 to Elisabeth and their two daughters (Margaretha, born in 1779; Sophia Julianna [birth date not recorded]).
Samuel Gutjahr's children are recorded on the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. Ka098.
They are recorded on the 1834 census of Katharinenstadt in Households No. 120, 121, & 232.
Both the 1767 census and the 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register record that Samuel Gutjahr came from the German village of Mitau in the Kurland region and that Anna Maria came from the German village of Lutherborn in the Isenburg region.
[Some translations have recorded this surname as Goutier, but Gutjahr is correct.]
