Biography: 

Omer Albert Dreiling, son of Andrew J. Dreiling & Pauline Kippes, was born 5 April 1918 in Victoria, Kansas. He died 21 May 2000 in San Angelo, Texas.

Omer Dreiling was an entrepreneur and active in various business ventures. He founded and operated San Angelo By-Products, Dreiling Hide Co. of San Angelo, Lubbock Rendering Co. and Lone Star Rendering Co. in Dallas. In 1967, he merged all four corporate entities with Beatrice Food Co. and continued management responsibilities until 1974 when he assumed the division management of Beatrice's Agri-Products division.

During his business years, he was a pioneer in the development of animal by-products, such as tallow and animal protein for cattle and poultry feeds. He served on numerous animal nutrition research committees throughout the country. He served as Trustee of the Salvation Army Board, Director of the National Renderers Association, and President of the National Hide Association during his career.

The Dreiling family trace its Volga German ancestry to the colony of Herzog.
