The baptism of a son to Johannes & Anna Catharina Gropp is recorded in the parish register of Aulendiebach: Johann Conrad, baptized 1 March 1755.
Widow Anna Gropp and her children (Anna, age 22; Dorothea, age 17½; Maria, age 15; Konrad, age 12) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Johannes [Konrad] Gropp (age 12), the orphaned son of Johannes Gropp, is recorded on the 1767 census of Balzer in Household No. 67 along with the Andreas Grün family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Gropp and Grün families.
