Dr. Bryan Pinkall, son of Gary Pinkall & Michelle Dechant, was born 28 April 1985. Dr. Pinkall grew up in Great Bend, Kansas, and is a professional vocal performer (tenor).

He currently serves as the director of the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance in the College of Arts and Sciences at Kansas State University.

Dr. Pinkall debuted as a soloist at Carnegie Hall in 2014 and is the recipient of many honors including being the Distinguished Kansas of the Year in Performing Arts in 2014 and the American Prize in Vocal Performance in 2020.

He has worked in production management for the Emmy-winning 2014 Olympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony in Sochi, Russia, the 2016 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the papal mass at the 2015 World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia.

His Volga German ancestors came to Kansas from the colonies of Ober-Monjou, Mariental, and Liebental among others.
