Alexander Scheiermann was born in Lyubimovka in the Omsk Oblast (Siberia) on 1 February 1967.
He studied theology at the St. Chrischona Theological Seminary in Bettingen, Switzerland from 1990 to 1994. After completing his studies, he served as an vicar in the Lutheran Church of Moscow, and then served as pastor of the Lutheran Church in Omsk from 1996 to 1997. From 1997 to April 2017 he served as pastor of St. Mary's Lutheran Church in Saratov.
In October 2016 he was elected to succeed Otto Schaude as bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Urals, Siberia and the Far East. He was concecrated as bishop on 23 April 2017.
Bishop Scheiermann's Volga German ancestors came from the colony of Yagodnaya Polyana.
