Johann Peter Haas and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 28 August 1766 aboard the ship Der Junge Heinrich under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.
Johann Peter Haase [sic], a tailor (Schneider), and his wife Elisabeth are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 38 along with a note that they settled in the colony of Schaffhausen in 1768.
The Oranienbaum passenger list does not record from where Johann Peter Haas came. The 1767 census records that Johann Peter Haase [sic] came from the German village of Seisfelden.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Haas family among the Volga German colonies.
