Jakob König, a farmer, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a ship named Die Zwei Gebrüder (The Two Brothers) under the command of Skipper Nicolaus Peter Pinck.
Jacob König and his wife Dorothea are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Andreas Jakob König (age 31), a single ropemaker (Seiler), is recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 175 working as a day laborer (Lohnarbeiter). He had arrived in Katharinenstadt on 27 August 1767.
Andreas Jakob König (age 39), a ropemaker (Seiler), his wife Katharina Margaretha née Asmus (age 35), and children (Johann Gottlieb, age 7; Johann Ludwig, age 5; Johann Heinrich, age 3; Anna Maria, age 1) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 39 along with a note that another daughter Friederika Elisabeth was born 27 March 1777. The Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Jakob König came from the German village of Nordhausen. The 1776 Land Register records that Andreas Jakob König came from the German village of Nordhausen and that his wife came from the German village of Springen in the region of Hessen-Rheinfeld.
