Discussion & Documentation

Anna Cathar. Asmus married on 16 April 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen to Johann Adam Krüger.

Widower Kaspar Asmus, a farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a pinque named Slon (Elephant) under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov along with his daughter Katharina and her husband Adam Krieger.

Anna Katharina [née Asmus] and her husband Adam Krieger are recorded on the 1767 census of Krasnoyar in Household No. 100. They had arrived in Krasnoyar on 20 July 1767.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Kaspar Asmus came from the German region of Darmstadt.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Asmus family among the Volga German colonies.
