Jakob Jäger, a farmer, and his wife Anna Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard an English frigate named Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
They are believed to have settled in the Volga German colony of Hussenbach.
The Movement Tables accompanying the 1798 census of Hussenbach record that in 1788, widow Anna Maria Jäger "received free passport" after paying her debts.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Jakob Jäger came from the German region of Isenburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Jäger family among the Volga German colonies.
