The first Mass celebrated in Catharine, Kansas, was held in the sod home of Justus Bissing in the summer of 1876. A stone schoolhouse was constructed in Catharine in 1879, and this building was used to hold worship services until the completion of the present structure which was dedicated on 6 October 1892.
St. Paul is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. Many Volga German families from the Melrose Park area of Chicago have attended St. Paul over the years.

The parish in Antonino was organized in October 1904. A frame church building was erected and dedicated to "Our Lady of Help." Fr. Schebler said the first Mass in the new building on 25 March 1905. The founding membership of Our Lady of Help was composed almost entirely of former members of the parish in Munjor.
Construction on a new church building began in 1951 to replace the old frame structure. It was dedicated 26 May 1952.
In 1981, the church became a "mission parish" of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and later St. Joseph's Parish in Hays.
Peace Lutheran Church was founded in 1889. Since 2007, it has been part of the Seeds of Faith Lutheran Parish that includes, along with Peace, Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hoisington, First Lutheran Church in LaCrosse, and Hope Lutheran Church in Rush Center.
St. Paul Lutheran Church was originized in 1859 and has been affiliated with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod since 1881. The old St. Paul Lutheran Church building was constructed in 1904. It now serves as the home of the Thornton Historical Society.
Second United Brethren Church was founded by Volga German immigrants in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of northwest Chicago.
Second United became Calvary United Methodist Church which became Grace Korean United Methodist Church.

Deutsche Evangelish Lutherischen Eden Gemeinde (Eden German Evangelical Lutheran Church) was officially organized on 19 May 1914 by Volga German families in the Jefferson Park area of northwest Chicago. Johann Karl Kramer (born in 1882 in Krasnoyar) served as its first president.
Our Lady of Victory Church was organized on September 10, 1906, as a mission of St. Edward parish. The Rev. Martin M. Lennartz cared for the small Catholic community, and celebrated Mass in a hall on the southeast corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Lawrence Avenue. In 1907 a cottage at 4741 N. Linder Avenue was acquired for use as a church. In March 1910, 20 lots at the present parish site were purchased, and construction began on a combination church-school building.
St. John Lutheran Church was organized in 1916 in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Chicago. The congregation was affiliated with the United Lutheran Church in America (ULCA). It was dissolved in 1952. The building was eventually demolished.
