Settlement of Prudentópolis was instigated by the development of roads in the area beginning in 1882. When the Brazilian government decided to colonize the area, 1,500 Ukranian families settled there in 1895, and today approximately 75% of the population of the city is of Ukranian descent. Volga German families also moved there from the surrounding rural areas.       The city is named in honor of Brazilian president Prudente José de Morais Barros, the third president of Brazil (1894-1898).

Colônia Moema was one of the subunits of Colônia Octávio founded by Volga German settlers in 1878.

Most of the early Volga German settlers left Colônia Moema because of the dry farming conditions and poor soils. Polish immigrants took their place in Colônia Moema.

The colony of Mariental was settled by Volga Germans on 14 April 1879. German colonists from Bukovina also settled there.

The colony of Marcondes was settled by Volga Germans on 16 March 1879.

Colônia do Lago was founded in 1878. It is located in the municipality (district) of Palmeiro in the state of Paraná. It was settled by Volga German Catholics.

Johannes & Anna Maria Schmidt and their family from Graf were among the founders of Colônia do Lago. They later moved to Johannisdorf in 1880.

The colony of Johannisdorf was founded by Volga Germans on 17 July 1877. German colonists from Bukovina also settled there.

The Volga German settlement in Ipiranga was also known as Colônia Scheiffer.

Imbituva is both a town and a municipality in the Brazilian State of Paraná. It was originally founded in 1871. In 1881, the town was given the name Santo Antônio do Imbituva (St. Anthony of Imbituva). In 1929, the shortened name of Imbituva was adopted. Volga German Lutherans settled in this area.

The colony of Hartmann, named after immigrant leader Karl Hartmann, was settled by Volga Germans on 16 March 1879. It is also known by the name of Quero-Quero.

The colony of Faxinalzinho is located in the municipality of Teixeira Soares in the state of Paraná. It was settled by Volga German Lutherans.
