Discussion & Documentation:

Philip Albert, son of Johann Georg Albert from Holzheim, married on 6 September 1735 to Anna Elisabeth Betz, daughter of Johannes Betz from Wehrda.

Their second child was Johann Georg, who was born 12 June 1743 and baptized 14 June 1743.

Johann Georg Albrecht [sic] & Anna Catharina Wagner, both from Werde [sic] in the area of Trümbach, were married on 9 May 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

Johann Albert, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Reders. Anna is believed to be a sister of Johannes Wagner with whom they arrived in Oranienbaum. [See Wagner Family.]

Johann Georg Albert, a farmer, and his wife Anna Katharina are recorded on the 1767 census of Walter in Household No. 30. They had arrived in Walter on 25 August 1767.

Anna Katharina Albert, widow of Georg Albert, and their children (Johann Konrad, age 18; Johannes, age 14; Johann Tobias, age 11) are recorded on the 1798 census of Walter in Household No. Wt035 where she is remarried to Karl Glitsel.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Albert came from the German region of Werder [Wehrda]. The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Albert came from the German village of Holzhausen in the Hessen-Kassel region. There is not a Holzhausen near Wehrda, but there is a Holzheim, and that's where the family was located in parish records.
