Albrecht (Norka)

There are two Albrecht families that settled in the Volga German colony of Norka. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs additional research.

(1) Johann Jacob Albrecht, son of Johann Peter & Dorothea Albrecht of Pferdsbach, was baptized on 23 August 1711 in Wolf. He married on 21 February 1737 in Wolf to Anna Maria Düdolff, daughter of Johann Caspar Düdolff [also recorded as Diedolf]. She had been baptized in Wolf on 8 September 1715.

Among their nine children is Martin Albrecht who was born in Pferdsbach and baptized on 30 November 1748 in Wolf.

Martin Albrecht arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 abord the Russian pink Vologda under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Bartenyev.

Martin Albrecht, a farmer, and his [new] wife Margaretha are recorded on the 1767 census of Norka in Household No. 30. They had arrived in Norka on 15 August 1767.

Martin Albrecht and his family are recorded on the 1775 census of Norka in Household No. 184.

Martin Albrecht and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Norka in Household No. Nr194.

The 1767 census records that Martin Albrecht came from the German village of Pferdsbach in the region of Isenburg.

(2) Heinrich Albrecht, and craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Anna Maria are recorded on the 1767 census of Norka in Household No. 196 along with Johannes Bollender (age 8), the orphaned son of Philipp Bollender. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between this Albrecht family and the Bollender family. They had arrived in Norka on 2 September 1767.

The 1767 census records that Heinrich Albrecht came from the German region of Isenburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Heinrich Albrecht family among the Volga German colonies.
