Heinrich Aschmacher [sic], a farmer, his wife Agness, and children (Andreas, age 18; Maria, age 16½; Meinhard, age 11; Joseph, age 6¼; Jakobina, age 5) arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 May 1766 aboard a pinque named Лапоминк (Lapomink - a Russian river) under the command of Lieutenant Dmitry Krykov.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 12.
In 1788, Joseph Aschemacher and his family moved from Preuss to Brabander.
The death of Andreas Aschemacher, son of Joseph Aschemacher, in 1801 is recorded on the 1811 census of Brabander in Household No. 15.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Heinrich Aschemacher was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he is a miner (Bergarbeiter).
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Heinrich Aschmacher [sic] came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that Heinrich Aschemacher came from the German village of Rheinbreitbach.
