Johann Heinrich Asselmann, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Holstein on 26 May 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 6.
The 1767 census records that Johann Heinrich Asselmann came from the German region of Miam.
