Johann Hermann Auhl, son of Peter Auhl, was born 4 April 1743 in Höllrich. He married on 19 April 1766 to Anna Margaretha Vollmer, daughter of Friedrich Vollmer. Anna Margaretha Vollmer was born 27 August 1740 also in Höllrich. Their marriage is recorded in the parish register of Höllrich.

[Johann] Hermann Aul, a farmer, and his wife Anna Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Perpepechin.

Hermann Ahun [sic] and his wife Anna Margreta are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Johann Hermann Aul & his wife settled in the Volga German colony of Krasnoyar on 20 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 106. Johann Hermann Aul died on 8 February 1797 in Krasnoyar.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Hermann Aul came from the German region of Franken (Franconia). The 1767 census records that Johannes Hermann Aul came from the German region of Dienheim.
