Discussion & Documentation:

Johann Heinrich Becker, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Wilhelmina, age 18; Anna Katharina, age 15; Maria Gertrude, age 12; Johann Heinrich, age 6; Johann Wolf Hermann, age 4½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the snow-brig Die Frau Dietrika under the command of Skipper Joachim Friedrich Luhn.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Walter on 25 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 62.

The 1767 census records that Johann Heinrich Becker came from the German village of Gelnhaar near Hanau.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Becker family among the Volga German colonies.
