Nikolaus Becker, a farmer, his wife Sabina, and brother-in-law Daniel [Schmidt] (age 16) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Jungfer Friederika under the command of Skipper Christian Korsholm.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Straub on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 51. A note on the 1767 census records that Sabina died in Straub on 8 October 1767.
The 1767 census records that Nikolaus Becker came from the German village of Wintersheim in the Kurpfalz region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Becker family among the Volga German colonies.
