Orphan Johann Andreas Bastian (age 4), son of the deceased Johann Bastian, is recorded on the 1767 census of Warenburg in Household No. 15 along with Konrad Östreich and his wife. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Östreich and Bastian families.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Bastian family among the Volga German colonies.
