Johann Georg Bauer, a maker of gloves, his wife Anna, and daughter Anna (age one-month) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the barque named Fortitudo under the command of Skipper John Scott.

Georg Bauer, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Anna Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 2 September 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 194 along with stepchildren (Johann Just Messer, age 8; Elisabeth Messer, age 5), whose deceased father was Johannes Messer.

Johann Georg Bauer, his wife Anna Margaretha, and children (Johann Konrad, age 7; Johann Georg, age 4; Louisa, age 2½) are recorded on the 1775 census of Norka in Household No. 1 along with orphan Elisabeth Meier (age 13). The 1775 census does not record a relationship between the Bauer and Meier families.

In 1797, Konrad Bauer moved from Norka to Saratov.

The death of [Johann] Georg Bauer in 1829 is recorded on the 1834 census of Norka in Household No. 107.

The death of Christian Bauer, son of [Johann] Georg Bauer, in 1821 is recorded on the 1834 census of Norka in Household No. 427.

Christian Bauer and his brother Konrad Bauer, sons of Christian Bauer, are recorded on the 1857 census of Norka in Household No. 461.

Christian Bauer, his brother Konrad Bauer, and their families are recorded on the 1857 census of Hoffental.

Philipp Bauer, son of [Johann] Georg Bauer, is recorded on the 1834 census of Norka in Household No. 107 along with a note that his son Wilhelm relocated to the colony of Kolb in 1818.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Georg Bauer came from the German region of Isenburg.
