Bauer (Shcherbakovka)
Johann Melchior Bauer and his family immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig Holstein) arriving in Flensburg on 9 June 1762.
They deserted the Danish colonies on 27 June 1764 and joined the migration to Russia. Melchior Bauer and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Shcherbakovka on 15 June 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 16.
Ludwig Bauer from Shcherbakovka and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Gnadentau.
The Eichhorns record that Johann Melchior Bauer was a cobbler (Schuhmacher) and farmer (Bauer) while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer.
The Eichhorns record that Johann Melchior Bauer came from the German village of Wimpfen. The 1767 census records that Melchior Bauer came from the German region of Obereisesheim.
