Baumann (Beauregard)
Franz Laumann [sic], a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.
Franz Laumann [sic] is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
This Franz Laumann is believed to be the Franz Baumann, a single Hussar - member of the light cavalry (Husar), who settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No 63.
This is believed to be the same Franz Baumann who, in 1775, is recorded as leaving the colony of Katharinenstadt for an undisclosed destination.
The 1767 census records that Franz Baumann came from the German village of Bischofsheim.
