Baumann (Huck)*

Bernhardt and Anna Bauman had four children whose baptisms are recorded in the Spielberg parish register: (1) Maria Elisabeth, baptized 26 December 1755, died 2 May 1756; (2) Anna Elisabeth, baptized 3 April 1757, died 26 December 1758; (3) Eva Elisabeth, baptized 4 February 1759; and (4) Anna Catharina, baptized 20 November 1763.

Bernhard Baumann, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Philipp, age 15; Eva, age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.

Bernhard Baumann, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Johann Philipp, age 15½; Eva Elisabeth, age 10) are recorded on the 1767 census of Huck in Household No. 12. They had arrived in Huck on 1 July 1767.

Bernhard Baumann, his wife Anna Katharina, and children (Johann Philipp, age 21; Eva Elisabeth, age 17; Anna Katharina, age 7; Anna Margaretha, 4; Anna Gertrude, age 2½; Johann Konrad, age ¼) are recorded on the 1775 of Huck in Household No. 42.

Widower Bernhard Baumann and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Huck in Household No. Hk43.

The death of Bernhard Baumann in 1802 is recorded on the 1811 census of Huck in Household No. 43. The death of his son Philipp in 1810 is also recorded on the 1811 census of Huck in Household No. 43, leaving no male heirs.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Bernhard Baumann came from the German region of Isenburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Baumann family among the Volga German colonies.
