Heinrich Bäcker, a single farmer, and his mother Anna Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Messer on 18 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 25.

Franz Jakob Becker from Messer and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Franzosen in Household No. 13.

The 1767 census records that Heinrich Bäcker came from the German district of Brandenburg.
