Johann Peter Becker was baptized on 6 April 1704 in Staufenberg. He married there on 13 August 1726 to Anna Elisabetha Schmidt. She had been baptized in Staufenberg on 28 December 1704.

The births of 6 children to Johann Peter Becker & Anna Elisabetha Schmidt are recorded in the parish register of Staufenberg: (1) Anna Catharina, baptized 27 April 1727, buried 11 April 1729; (2) Johann Adam, born 8 June 1730, buried 18 August 1732; (3) Johann Henrich, born 22 September 1732, died 30 January 1746; (4) Johann Balthasar, born 10 March 1735, died 21 March 1783; (5) Anna Elisabetha, born 5 January 1738; and (6) Johann Magnus, born 12 April 1741.

Magnus Becker, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Maria Sophia under the command of Skipper Johann Bauert.

Magnus Becker and his wife Anna Elisabeth are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 87.

The 1767 census records that Magnus Becker came from the German village of Stafelberg in the Darmstadt region.
