Discussion & Documentation

Peter Beller, a farmer, his wife Eva Maria, and sons (Weigand, age 21; Johann Georg, age 11) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a pinque named Slon (Elephant) under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Krasnoyar on 20 July 1767. Sons Weigand and Johann Georg are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 83.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Peter Beller came from the German region of Stolberg. The 1767 census records that Weigand Beller came from the German village of Köthen in the region of Stolberg.
