Hans Martin Bender, a farmer, and his wife immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in Flensburg on 29 May 1762.
They left Denmark on 24 April 1765 and joined the migration to Russia.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Galka on 12 April 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 35.
In 1792, Johann Adam Bender moved from Galka to Dreispitz.
The 1767 census records that Martin Bender came from the German village of Isselbach in the Kurpfalz region.
