Georg Bengler, a farmer, his wife Maria, and children (Christian, age 20; Katharina, age 14; Peter, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard the ship Mann und Frau under the command of Skipper Daniel Berg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 16 August 1767.
Widow Maria Magdalena Bengler and children (Maria Katharina, age 15; Stephan Peter, age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Preuss in Household No. 130 along with a note that father Georg had died in Preuss on 13 October 1767.
The 1767 census records that widow Maria Magdalena Bengler came from the German village of Laudenbach an der Bergstraße.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Bengler family among the Volga German colonies.
