Anton Berger, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Anton Burger [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He is recorded on the 1767 census of Ober-Monjou in Household No. 1 along with the Johannes Josephus Grenzer family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Gernzer and Burger [sic] families.
In 1769, Anton Burger "ran away" from Ober-Monjou.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anton Berger came from the German region of Würzburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Berger family among the Volga German colonies.
