Discussion & Documentation

The parish register of Salmünster records the marriage of Conrad Bergerich from Eckardroth and the widow Anna Margaretha Krack on 28 November 1740. [Anna Margaretha Schnarr from Sarrod had been previously married on 15 November 1735 to Conrad Krack.]

The baptisms of the following children [all born in Eckardroth] are recorded in the parish register of Salmünster: (1) Anna Margaretha, born 26 September 1741, died 13 October 1742; (2) Johannes, born 11 June 1743, died 27 June 1743; (3) Maria Margaretha, born 8 July 1744, died 4 August 1744; (4) Paul, born 14 March 1746, died 11 May 1746; (5) Eva Catharina, born 19 April 1747, died 24 June 1747; (6) Johannes, born 18 December 1748; and (7) Johann Christian, born 12 April 1751.

Konrad Bergeritz, a farmer, and his wife Anna Margaretha immigrated to Russia, arriving at the port in Oranienbaum from Lübeck aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Perepechin.

Konrad Bergeritz and his wife Anna Margaretha are recorded on the 1767 census of Köhler in Household No. 88. They had settled there on 21 August 1767.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Konrad Bergeritz came from Austria. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Salmünster.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
