Franziskus Berlatz, a physician (Arzt), and his wife Anna settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 5 March 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 113.
The 1767 census records that Franziskus Berlatz came from the village of Liege.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
