Widow Anna Bilgel, her children (Sebastian, [age not recorded]; Elisabeth, age 9; Anna Maria, age 5), and her mother-in-law Anna [surname not recorded] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Researcher Andreas Raith believes that this family settled in the colony of Zürich.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anna Bilgel came from the German region of Isenburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Bilgel family among the Volga German colonies.
