Discussion & Documentation

Elias [Klaus incorrect] Blank and his brother Jakob arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Frau Catharina under the command of Skipper Johann Joachim Jenßen.

Elias and Jacob Blanc [sic] are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya (Household No. 67) with a note that they relocated to the Volga German colony of Näb in 1768.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Klaus & Jacob Blank came from the German region of Berlin. The 1767 census records that Johann Elias Blank came from the German region of Berlin.
