Block (Yagodnaya Polyana)
Simon Block, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the snow-brig Die Frau Dietrika under the command of Skipper Joachim Friedrich Luhn.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Yagodnaya Polyana on 16 September 1767 and his recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 60 along with his wife Anna Julianna, the widow of Christian Barth, and her 4-year-old son Johann Nikolaus.
August Block and Konrad Block from Yagodnaya Polyana and their families are recorded on the 1857 census of Neu-Yagodnaya-Polyana.
The 1767 census records that Simon Block came from the German region of Nidda.
