Paul David Blum, his wife Katharina, and children (Christian, age 15½; Johann, age 13; Paul, age 3¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 September 1766.

Paul David Blum, his wife Catharina, and children (Christian, age 16; Johann, age 13) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Paul David Blum, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), his wife Katharina, and children (Johann Friedrich, age 16; Johann Jonas, age 14) are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 102.

A Blum family from Basel is recorded on the 1798 census of Bettinger in Household No. Bt22.

The 1767 census records that Paul David Blum came from the German village of Bitterfeld.
