Jakob Blumentahl, a single hosier (Strumpfwirker), arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 May 1766 aboard the pink named Лапоминк (Lapomink) under the command of Lieutenant Dmitry Krykov.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Leitsinger on 12 May 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 83 long with a note that he relocated to the colony of Keller.
The 1767 census records that Jakob Blumentahl came from the German region of Schwaben (Swabia).
There are no known surviving male lines of this Blumentahl family among the Volga German colonies.
