Jakob Böhmer [sic], a single cobbler, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 2 August 1766 aboard an English frigate named Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Jacob Böhmer [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Jakob Böhm [sic], a farmer, and his wife Katharina are recorded on the 1767 census of Kaneau in Household No. 11. They had settled there on 3 August 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Jakob Böhmer [sic] came from the German region of Nassau. The 1767 census records that Jakob Böhm [sic] came from the German region of Nassau-Usingen.
[These two are believed to be the same person because so many families that settled in Kaneau were aboard the same ship arriving in Oranienbaum.]
