Bolender (Norka / Yagodnaya Polyana)

Philipp Bolender, a farmer, his wife Anna Margaretha, and children (Johann Georg, age 12; Johann, age 8; Magdalena, age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 August 1766 aboard the Russian galliot named Citadel under the command of Midshipman Gregory Bukharin.

Phillip Bolender, his wife Anna Margreth, and children (Johann Georg, age 15; Johannes, age 11; Magdalena, age 4) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that both parents died en route.

Surving son Johann Georg Bolender (age 13) settled in the Volga German colony of Yagodnaya Polyana on 16 Septmber 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 73 along with the Johannes Götz family. No relationship between the Bolender and Götz families is recorded on the 1767 census of Yagodnaya Polyana.

Surviving son Johannes Bolender (age 8) settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 2 September 1767 where he is recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 196 along with the Heinrich Albrecht family. No relationship between the Bolender and Albrecht families is recorded on the 1767 census of Norka.

In 1788, Johannes Bolender moved from Norka to Pobochnaya.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Philipp Bolender came from the German region of Erbach.
