Abraham Bost/Post was born in approximately 1785. He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental.

Abraham Post from Holland [The Netherlands] married on 29 October 1814 in Mariental to Anna Margaretha Gassmann, daughter of Michael Gassmann.

He is recorded on the 1834 Mariental Census in Household No. 221 and on the 1857 Mariental Census in Household No. 342 with his death noted there in 1851.
