Stoyan Bralian, a member of the petty bourgeois (Kleinbürger), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Husaren on 13 June 1765. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 10 along with his wife Katharina and children (Maria, age 6½; Awdotia, age 3½; Emeljan, age 1½).

The 1767 census records that Stoyan Bralian came from the village of Braila in Turkey.
