Johann Brandt, a stonemason, his wife Maria Magdalena, children (Christian, age 7; Anna Margaretha, age 4), and sister Elisabeth (age 25) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a pinque named Slon (Elephant) under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Kraft on 18 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 59.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Brandt was a stonemason while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer (Ackerbauer).
